If government guidelines regarding COVID-19 determine it best, Run Baby Run may be converted into a virtual race. Stay tuned for updates. Click here for COVID Protocols.

Run Baby Run! Join CCI Health & Wellness Services on August 14, 2021 as we move for something that matters.

NOTE: For the safety for all participants there are no dogs allowed on the race course. For any event on a public school property no animals are permitted, per county policy.

CCI Health & Wellness Services strives to create a more equitable health care experience for our patients and communities made vulnerable by social, economic, and cultural barriers. It’s why we believe every expecting parent deserves a healthy pregnancy and every baby deserves a healthy start no matter their background, insurance status, income, immigration status, or any other factor. We know women can face many challenges in accessing care in our community. In the CCI service area, Prince George’s County faces some of the worst birth outcomes in the state and the county does not offer prenatal care services to its residents, making it more difficult for already underserved women to achieve healthy birth outcomes. More broadly we know:

  • Women of color often receive inadequate care and have more challenging pregnancy experiences.
  • Immigrant women may have limited English proficiency and require care adapted to their linguistic and cultural needs.
  • Women facing chronic health conditions, like hypertension or diabetes, need a higher level of care to ensure healthy, full-term pregnancies.

At CCI, our prenatal program is essential to improving the health of parents and their children. Without appropriate prenatal care, women may experience dangerous complications during pregnancy and labor, and babies are at greater risk for physical and mental disabilities. Quality prenatal care changes the trajectory of patients’ birth outcomes, leading to healthy, full-term babies.

Run Baby Run brings the whole community together. Athletic ability does not matter—all are encouraged to run, walk, jog, push their children in strollers, wheel in their wheelchairs, and make their way to the finish line however they choose.
