Lucky Leprechaun 5K

Run like you’ve got the luck of the Irish on your side! Grab your run buddies for the festive Lucky Leprechaun 5k with a fantastic St. Patty’s Day after-party! 3.1 miles with a Clyde’s restaurant St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the finish line! Bring the whole family — there’s a kids fun run, moon bounce, face painting, cotton candy, and more!

WHEN: March 16, 2013 – 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: Reston Town Center, 11911 Democracy Dr., Reston, Va.

SWAG: Pre-registered runners receive a Lucky Leprechaun 5k technical T-shirt! Please note: T-shirts and T-shirt sizes are subject to availability and not guaranteed to late/race day registrants.

KIDS FUN RUN: There will be a FREE short (about 100 yards) kids fun run at 9:30 a.m. Registration for the kids fun run will take place that morning near the finish line.

AFTER-PARTY: Run and then stay after for a great finish line celebration! The Clyde’s St. Patrick’s Day After-Party is one you won’t want to miss!

Each runner will receive five tickets (a value of $10 to purchase food or beverage outside). Additional tickets cost $2. Please visit the ticket booth to purchase! Admission to the Kids Area will be 1 ticket. The Kids Area includes fun children’s activities: two moon bounces, face painters, cotton candy, popcorn, and games! A portion of the proceeds will benefit Reston Interfaith.

All alcoholic beverages will require an ID over the age of 21 for purchase. There will be food and beverage booths set up including a breakfast menu and a heartier St. Patrick’s day menu.

COURSE & TIME LIMIT: The 5k course loops around the Reston Town Center area on the roads. Runners must complete the 5k within 60 minutes, or maintain approximately 19 minute miles.

NOT STROLLER FRIENDLY: Unfortunately, this course is not stroller friendly due to course restrictions.

TIMING: The 2013 Lucky Leprechaun 5k will be electronically timed using the IPICO tag system.

AWARDS: There will be overall and age groups awards to top finishers. Top 3 male and female runners will win Clyde’s gift cards, $100 – $75 – $50. There will also be team awards. A team may have an unlimited number of participants and the top four times from team member will make up the team score. A scoring team of four must have at least one female. There will be awards given to the top three scoring teams.

PARKING: At the Reston Town Center, there are six FREE parking garages and one surface level parking lot on the weekends (over 7,000 spots!). Reston Town Center Parking Map & Info.

PHOTOS: FREE high-resolution race photos will be available  for download from the Potomac River Running Flickr page. Keep an eye out for our on course/finish line photographer and be prepared to strike a pose! We will send an email notifying you when the pictures are ready to be shared.

*Please note: You must pick up your packet at one of the designated times. Packets will not be mailed after the race. In addition, awards must be claimed within two weeks of the conclusion of a race.
