Join us for the 3rd annual Run for Independence 8k: A fantastic 5 mile journey to kick off the Independence Day festivities! Run through the streets of Leesburg while supporting an amazing local organization: The ARC of Loudoun.

WHEN: June 29, 2013, 7:00 am

WHERE: The race starts and finishes at the ARC of Loudoun: 601 Catoctin Circle NE, Leesburg, VA  20176. It is a USATF certified measured course.

RUN FOR A CAUSE: The Run for Independence 8k benefits The ARC of Loudoun, The Paxton Campus in Leesburg, which works with and advocates for children and adults with disabilities.

POST-RACE BREAKFAST AND FUN: The race will feature  festive post race activities including music, food, and awards.  An awesome breakfast will be provided by Eggspectation, including a delicious yogurt and fruit bar and hot breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes.

PARKING: There is ample parking at the race site.

The race will be electronically timed using the IPICO tag system.  Full results will be posted following the race.

AWARDS: There will be awards to the top 3 overall male and female finishers.  There will also be awards to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups:  14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 & over.

There will also be awards for the top 3 teams! Runners can have an unlimited number of members on a team with 4 scoring  with at least one female/one male.

FREE MASSAGES: Runners can enjoy a free massage provided by Fast Track Physical Therapy. Designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery, the Fast Track team will use Sports Massage, Swedish, Deep Tissue & Neuromuscular techniques to help with improved blood flow to your muscles, reduction of scar tissue, and improved tissue elasticity and increased absorption of nutrients.
