SWAG & MEDAL

All virtual Firecracker 5K/1 Mile for the Troops presented by Leidos participants will receive a short-sleeve commemorative shirt, a race bib, and an awesome medal.

PACKET DELIVERY

Your race packets (bib, shirt, and medal) will be shipped out the week leading up to the event so you can have the option to walk/run in your Firecracker gear! The packets will be shipped to the address in your account.

POST YOUR RESULTS

Once you’ve completed your race, you’ll be able to post your time as well as see how your friends/family members did! Here’s how:

  1. Log into your =PR= Races Account.
  2. On the top right of your screen click “My Account”.
  3. Find 2020 Firecracker 5K for the Troops presented by Leidos and click on the link “Log Results”.
  4. You will be promted to add in your time – Hours, Minutes, Seconds. Click Submit.
  5. After you’ve uploaded your time, check the race results page to see how you did.

BATTLE OF THE BRANCHES

When you register, make sure to indicate the branch of service that you or your family members are affiliated with. This battle is not just for bragging rights! Potomac River Running will make a financial donation to USO-Metro in honor of the winning branch!

NO TIME LIMIT

There is a 60 minute time limit for the 5k – this means one must maintain ~19 minute miles. Running virtually means there is NO time limit for the 5K or 1 Mile!

BENEFITING USO-METRO

To date, USO-Metro has proudly supported more than 46,000 service members and their families through their COVID-19 Response Programs and Services. USO-Metro has delivered more than 14,000 care packages and meals to service members, military families, and healthcare professionals at local military installations. USO-Metro is adapting its traditional center programs for virtual delivery, including entertainment engagements, story-time for families, and popular military spouse programming like “Coffee Connections” and other networking events.
