Join us for the 2013 Mother’s Day 4 Miler and 1 Mile Fun Run!
Test your fitness on a fast course before the summer temperatures arrive. What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than to dedicate one of your 2013 races to all fabulous Moms?!
WHEN: Sunday, May 12, 2013, 8:00 a.m.
WHERE: The 4-Miler starts on Baron Cameron Avenue and will finish at Browns Chapel Park. A one mile fun run/walk is also available! The fun run will begin 5 minutes after the start of the 4 Mile race.
SWAG: All pre-registered runners will receive a Mother’s Day 4 Miler short-sleeve gender-specific technical T-shirts!
COLLECTIBLE PIN: The first 800 runners to arrive to packet pickup will receive a Mother’s Day 4 Miler pin – as a constant reminder of your achievement! =PR= Race Series lanyards will be available for purchase ($3.00) so you can begin or add to your =PR= Race Series pin collection!
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MOMS: In celebration of Mother’s Day, all racing Mother’s will receive a flower!
STROLLER FRIENDLY: This race wouldn’t be the same without the kids! The 4 mile course is stroller friendly.
PARKING: There is plenty of parking near Brown’s Chapel Park.
AWARDS: There will be awards to the top 3 overall male and female finishers. There will also be awards to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 & over.
PHOTOS: FREE high resolution race photos will be available for download from the Potomac River Running Flickr page. Keep an eye out for our on course/finish line photographer and be prepared to strike a pose! We will send an email notifying you when the pictures are ready to be shared.
TIMING: The race will be electronically timed using the IPICO tag system. Full results will be posted following the race.
BENEFICIARY: The race will benefit Devotion To Children (DTC). DTC is a non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling the needs of children from birth to age six, so that they may become mentally, physically and emotionally healthy members of society.
Founded in 1994 in Falls Church, Virginia, DTC has collaborated with many like-minded organizations in the provision of childcare, health and educational services for needy families and their children. Both working and unemployed families need access to affordable, quality preschool, daycare, health and educational services unavailable to them without outside assistance. Devotion identifies those needs and works to fulfill them.
*Please note: You must pick up your packet (including collectible pins) at one of the designated times. Packets will not be mailed or reserved for a participant after the race. In addition, awards must be claimed within two weeks of the conclusion of a race.
